# How can I test for v"0.4.x"?

I would like to test if a `VersionNumber` is 0.4.x or less.

```julia
v"0.4.1" <= v"0.4"

```

returns `false`

Is

```julia
x < v"0.5.0-DEV"

```

the best way to do this, (and would it be guaranteed to work)?

`version < v"0.5-"`
