# GSOC'26 : guidance on getting started with MedImages.jl

Hello everyone,

I am new to the Julia ecosystem and interested in contributing to MedChem.jl.  
I have set up Julia locally and am exploring the repository, but I would appreciate some guidance to get started effectively.

I had a few questions:

1. Is there a designated mentor or main maintainer I should coordinate with?
2. Are there any recommended “good first issues” or beginner-friendly tasks?
3. What type of issues or contributions are currently most helpful (bug fixes, documentation, tests, new features, etc.)?
4. Are there any contribution guidelines or development workflows I should follow before opening a PR?

I am excited to learn and contribute meaningfully to the project.
