# General questions from Python user

It’s easy to give examples when simple Python code (with common numerical libraries, of course) is faster than a direct translation to julia. E.g. see an old topic of mine, [Trig functions very slow](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/trig-functions-very-slow/15335).
