The Modelica Association and Lund University are organizing a free one-day symposium on Sept. 30, 2019, in Lund, Sweden. The central focus is on _future directions of modeling and simulation_. Invited researchers and industrial practitioners from different communities with a common interest in modeling and simulation will present their view on status, trends and forthcoming developments in this field. Two presentations will be from the _Julia community_:

- Chris Rackauckas: Recent advancements in differential equation solver software
- Hilding Elmqvist, Martin Otter: Modia – A prototyping platform for next generation modeling and simulation based on Julia

More information is available from the [Symposium Web page](https://modelica.github.io/Symposium2019/). Although, the symposium is free, due to logistics reason registration is required.

Best regards,

Martin Otter
