I thought these blog posts on finding eclipses were cool.

> Find every solar eclipse in 2020-2030 and plot the path of totality using Python

> Built-in Wolfram Language function SolarEclipse automatically computes nearly 100 properties about eclipses. For past and future eclipses, find type, magnitude, path, maps, umbra, patterns, geo projections, position, etc.

Got a 80 seconds of totality in Montpelier, VT. Two highlights for me were seeing Venus shining brightly below and a large solar prominence, which to the eye looked like a single spot of sunlight poking through on the lower edge of the moon. I didn’t have the presence of mind to remove the solar filter on my telescope and see it magnified. On the other hand I could have wasted my short bit of totality fiddling with equipment.
