# Download a url (with a password)

Better to use Downloads which is a standard library. Something like

```julia
using Downloads: download
file = download(url)

```

You can create a [`~/.netrc` file](https://www.gnu.org/software/inetutils/manual/html_node/The-_002enetrc-file.html) with a username and password. You can also put the username and password in the URL.
