# Does Julia Create a "1.5" Language Problem?

IMHO, Nathan Boyer describes best [in this 2020 post](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/julia-for-prototyping-compared-to-matlab/33900/45), what are the number 1, 2, 3, …, hurdles for many newcomers.
