# Discourse difference between numbers in blue and numbers in gray

Does anyone know what the difference is on Discourse between numbers in blue and numbers in gray? Here’s an example:

You can hover over them. Gray means unread old posts, blue means unread posts. Don’t know what qualifies as old…

I _think_ an “unread old post” is a post in a topic that was posted prior to the last time you opened the topic, but you haven’t scrolled past it (to “read” it) yet. The blue ones are new since the last time you opened the topic.
