# Deprecating EzXML.jl?

EzXML.jl has a number of serious bugs. For example: [Segfault when using `link!` · Issue #218 · JuliaIO/EzXML.jl · GitHub](https://github.com/JuliaIO/EzXML.jl/issues/218)
Is anyone currently maintaining this package?
Should we mark this package as deprecated in the registry?

If we do this, we need to protect the alternative. Is this XML.jl?
@joshday says [“I need to step back from finishing this PR and maintaining XML in the foreseeable future.”](https://github.com/JuliaComputing/XML.jl/pull/54). So that package is also looking for a new maintainer. @joshday recommends bringing the package into [JuliaData](https://github.com/JuliaData). It is not yet clear whether either of these can be achieved.

Yes it looks like there is more interest in helping to maintain and test XML.jl
From what I can tell the only person that is in both JuliaComputing and JuliaData to transfer XML.jl is @StefanKarpinski

XML.jl now has a new and active maintainer in @mathieu17g and the package has made the transfer to the JuliaData org. So, for EzXML.jl…
