Is there a way to control the scaling of the width of the legend box with Plots?

In essence, I would like to make the lines longer, and it seems that controlling the width of the legend box itself is a way to do that, as it is discussed [here](https://github.com/JuliaPlots/Plots.jl/issues/4092) and in the references therein.
