# Configuring Table of Contents with Books

# Table of Contents Depth
Is there a configuration to alter the Table of Contents Depth using [Books.jl](https://github.com/JuliaBooks/Books.jl)? I see that some options can be set in the `metadata.yml`. However, as commented, [these only affect PDF](https://github.com/JuliaBooks/Books.jl/blob/c84a74d21cec758d183178ce9a895e7dd4af1c85/defaults/metadata.yml#L41-L43) output.

Nope sorry that depth level is fixed currently. Changing the level would also mean handling the arbitrary depth in the menu on phone screens and that kind of stuff so that’s why I didn’t make it flexible.

Noting that this is not a big problem since I can re-work the organization of the content to get the desired structure. I was just being lazy to see if I could make minimal changes to existing content.
