# Chris Rackauckas awarded ISOP Emerging Scientist Award

A hearty congratulations to @ChrisRackauckas for receiving the [2020 ISoP Emerging Scientist Award](https://acop11.pathable.co/awards). ISoP is the [International Society of Pharmacometrics](http://go-isop.org/).

Undoubtedly Julia + DiffEq + SciML has led to major advancements in the field, and also paved the way for the creation of the Pumas modelling and simulation software. This software stack is going to have a huge impact in many other fields. And I am sure this award is only one of many for Chris, and one of many for the Julia community.

Differentiable programming is a key part of the story, and Chris talks about its applicability in pharma:
