# Changing default package installation directory

Is there are way to change the default Julia package installation directory from /home/user/./julia to some other location on linux?

You can set `JULIA_DEPOT_PATH`. See [9. Glossary · Pkg.jl](https://julialang.github.io/Pkg.jl/v1/glossary/)
