# Can't install 'Plots' package: 'Ghostscript' artifact not downloading - Need help with workaround

julia version 1.11.6

When attempting to add Plots, I get the following message:

I tried a workaround:

1. I downloaded the artifact “Ghostscript.v9.55.1.x86\_64-w64-mingw32.tar.gz” directly from my browser.
2. I put the tar.gz file in a folder and with ‘LiveServer’ using serve() I hosted it locally on ‘[http://localhost:8000/](http://localhost:8000/)’
3. I ran

> Pkg.Artifacts.download\_artifact(Base.SHA1(“bf8f14a072d574839afd40d235e4ce6cd9e91a78”),“[http://localhost:8000/Ghostscript.v9.55.1.x86\_64-w64-mingw32.tar.gz](http://localhost:8000/Ghostscript.v9.55.1.x86_64-w64-mingw32.tar.gz)”)

And got the error

> ERROR: Unexpected end of data

I also tried using 7-zip to extract the tar.gz downloaded file and also got “Unexpected end of data” error.

Any help is appreciated.
