# Cannot install packages

I cannot install any packages today. Even after deleting my `.julia` directory and running `Pkg.add("HDF5")` (having problems with WinRPM again) the response is:

```julia
ERROR: Cannot clone BinDeps from https://github.com/JuliaLang/BinDeps.jl.git. Failed to receive response: The server returned an invalid or unrecognized response

```

It’s the same message about failing to receive response every time. `METADATA` can be cloned, though.

Anybody else experiencing the same thing?

Never mind! After a couple of hours everything works again…

Not sure what was up with this but GitHub has been having some uptime issues this week.

I checked [https://status.github.com](https://status.github.com) when I had problems and didn’t  
notice anything suspicious.

But it’s definitely a reasonable explanation!
