# Building Julia 1.10 on Windows

How can I build Julia from source on Windows? Which toolchain and compiler should I install?

I usually use [MSYS2](https://www.msys2.org/) these days.

Why are you building 1.10 though? Why not 1.11?

Because 1.10-rc1 was just tagged but is not yet released…
