Hi folks! 👋

After having a wonderful conversation with @Datseris at last year’s JuliaCon, I was inspired to work on writing up a blog post for the Julia website about starting a workgroup within the Julia Community! With a huge help from Hetarth Shah in co-authoring and turning some of my disparate ideas/notes from talking with George, we have finally published the blog post on the Julia website here: [So, You Want to Start a Julia Workgroup?](https://julialang.org/blog/2025/02/starting-workgroups/)

If you have ever been curious about starting a workgroup within the Julia community or want to hear some more thoughts about running a workgroup, check out this blog post! 😄 Feel free to share comments or thoughts or even open up a PR or discussion on the Julia website so we can make the post even better if you have ideas you want heard!

Cheers!

Kudos! Concise and informative.

By the way, what is the difference between a working group and a Github organization?

P.S. Would it make sense to include a link to this blog post on the Working Groups page?
