# Are there any plans for Julia to adopt an effects system?

Just to preempt any misunderstanding, OP isn’t talking about `@assume_effects`, but about algebraic effects, effect handlers, etc, like in [Koka](https://koka-lang.github.io/koka/doc/book.html#why-handlers) and [Effekt](https://effekt-lang.org/).
