Do the Julia tasks (in the sense of design) resemble any other task-based parallel system?
For instance, do they have anything in common with the Task Parallel Library of Microsoft?
And, what are good examples of packages designed with tasks?

Afaik, Go was a major inspiration. See [Go routines](https://golangdocs.com/goroutines-in-golang).
