# Another problem with Julia 1.11.1

I have freshly updated Julia to 1.11.1 but, like others, I am getting in trouble.  
Superficially, I would say that my problem is slightly different from what others are reporting. Therefore, I report also my version:

1. I open Julia via the simple command

```julia
julia

```

1. if I directly access the package manager I get the following error message

```julia

1. the problem disappears if, before accessing the package manager, I simply run

```julia
using Pkg

```

this solution is not good for me because It does not allow me to work in vscode

Any idea?

I installed it directly via pacman. I always do in this way

yeah don’t do it that way, that can easily give you broken Julia

Ok, I confirm that in this way the problem is solved. But I still have issues with using vs-code. Therefore I belive that now I am facing a different problem. Should I open a new post or I can continue here?

To conclude this thread, I also solved this second issue: it was just a problem that the Manifest file was outdated. Now everything is working. I marked your first suggestion as the solution because it efficiently solved the first issue. Thanks a lot!
