# \[ANN\] Dictionaries.jl - Improved productivity and performance of dictionaries in Julia

Thread safe in what way? If you’re looking for a dictionary which is thread safe for parallel insertions and deletions you won’t find it in Dictionaries.jl for the same reason it’s not in Base — the overhead would be too high for single threaded use (see also [Can dicts be threadsafe? - #6 by StefanKarpinski](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/can-dicts-be-threadsafe/27172/6))
