# \[ANN\] Biplots.jl

Biplots were introduced in the 70s and are super useful in exploratory data analysis. Given a design matrix `X` or more generally a `table` with variable names, it produces a 2D or 3D visualization with principal axes of alignment:

Biplots.jl v1.0 is now registered.

@jules @sdanisch would it be a good idea to collect these recipe packages into a GitHub organization? Any plans to move Makie-related efforts from JuliaPlots to JuliaMakie or similar name?

That could help newcomers identify what is available out there as a community effort.

Yeah, actually I was planning to move Makie & friends to [MakieOrg · GitHub](https://github.com/MakieOrg)…  
Haven’t had time yet to go through with it, but we could already move other packages there!

Ok, please let me know how do you prefer to move the package to the organization. I will do a search and open issues in other recipe packages out there.

## Biplots.jl v1.2

A new release of the package for the latest Makie.jl API is available. We dropped support for 3D biplots because it is rarely used in practice, and increases the maintenance burden.
