Hello Everyone,

I was reading a paper about DL for Symbolic Mathematics ([https://arxiv.org/pdf/1912.01412.pdf](https://arxiv.org/pdf/1912.01412.pdf)). In Section C of the appendix, they have mentioned a few methods for generating mathematical equations:

I am not understanding what is the definition for `K(e, n)` in that section. Can someone help me in understanding it?
Any help would be appreciated 😄

Thanks in advance.

PS: I am new to the community, please let me know if I had made a mistake.

Hey and welcome to the community. It’s seems like an interesting paper, but your question has nothing to do with Julia, so maybe “offtopic” would be a better category?

Thanks for the information. I have changed the topic accordingly. 😄

You could write an email to the authors of the paper and ask them to clarify.

That’s a great idea! I’ll do that.

Reminds me of [Group method of data handling - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_method_of_data_handling)

A GMDH model with multiple inputs and one output is a subset of components of the _base function_ (1):

![Y(x_{1},ots ,x_{n})=a_{0}+um imits {{i=1}}^{m}a{i}f_{i}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/d11e1b782bd8231b60006125290c17d638f6c5fa)
where _fi_ are elementary functions dependent on different sets of inputs, _ai_ are coefficients and _m_ is the number of the base function components.
