# Ability to define function templates

Recently I had a similar question: [Classification of functions](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/classification-of-functions/4468).

Something like “protocols” in Objective-C would be a great thing.  
Perhaps add it to the [whishlist](https://discourse.julialang.org/t/list-of-most-desired-features-for-julia-v1-x/4481)?
