Hey all,

We are super excited to share that this summer is our largest Summer of Code (combined Julia Summer of Code and Google Summer of Code) to date.

- We are mentoring 23 projects directly under the Julia Language: [Google Summer of Code](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/organizations/6684087328178176/#projects) through Google Summer of Code
- Mentoring 4 students though Julia Summer of Code:
  - Abdulrhman Ghanem, Julia VSCode Improvements
  - Som Vishwas Tambe, Differentiable Computer Vision in Julia
  - Sambhaw Kumar, XLNet - A Generalized Autoregressive Pretraining Model for JuliaText
  - Sumantrak Mukherjee, In-processing Methods for fairness in Machine Learning

- SciML is mentoring 7 students:
  - [SciML : Discretizations of partial differential equations](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#4929042274320384)
  - [GSoC Proposal: Multi-Start Optimization Methods](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#5343466420174848)
  - [Neural Hybrid Differential Equations and Adjoint Sensitivity Analysis](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#5357798591823872)
  - [Efficient Spatial Simulations in DiffEqJump](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#5463862406545408)
  - [Parameter Identifiability with ModelingToolkit.jl](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#5493332257538048)
  - [Adding Integro Differential Equations and Improving symbolic representation of geometry in PINNs](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#5673227164057600)
  - [Efficient Spatial Simulations in DiffEqJump](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#5463862406545408)

- JuMP.jl has 1 project: [Expanding support for the solution of bilevel optimization problems in JuMP.](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#6599895684743168)
- Gridap.jl has 2 projects: [A fast finite element interpolator in Gridap.jl](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#6175012823760896) and [[Gridap] Visualizing PDE approximations in Julia with Gridap.jl and Makie.jl](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#6231266174697472)
- OpenCV is mentoring 1 Julia project: [OpenCV bindings for Julia](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#4735963026161664)
- PostgreSQL also has 1 Julia project: [Create procedural language extension for the Julia programming language](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/#6743913253044224)

There are also a [few projects exploring](https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/projects/?sp-search=Julia&sp-page=2#6422064107356160) Julia implementations that are not strictly Julia projects.

As you can see, this is going to be a huge summer! So much so that it is getting had to track how many projects are using Julia, so if I missed your project or you know of one, please comment below or PM me and I will get it added to the list!
